Descriptions:

  • Aktion Club – A Kiwanis club for adults with developmental disabilities, sponsored by the Rockford Alpine Kiwanis Club, The Arc of Winnebago, Boone & Ogle Counties, Illinois Growth Enterprises, The Barbara Olson Center of Hope and Milestone, Inc. Meets the First Tuesday of the month at Christ United Methodist Church, 4509 Highcrest Rd. Rockford, IL. Meets the 3rd Tuesday at The Arc office.
  • Rec Night- An opportunity for people to get togehter and have fun.  Features music, dancing, board games, bumper pool, darts, and outdoor games.  Held the 2nd Wednesday of each month at The Arc.  Cost is $3 to attend.
  • Beadware – A creative workshop for people to enjoy making items such as jewelry and home goods in the company of friends. Completed items are sold in the Marketplace store, online and at art fairs. Held at The Arc office.
  • Project Art – Nourishing the creativity of people with disabilities through participation in a variety of mediums. Held at The Arc office.
  • The Arc’s Shining Stars Theater Group – Plays are performed and produced by the troupe under director joan e. kole. Held at The Arc Office.  
  • Future Planning- Workshops for parents planning for the future of an adult child with disabilities. Held at The Arc office and other locations in Boone and Ogle counties. 
  • Northwest Network Advisory Council Meetings – Parents, participants, guardians, family members, advocates, and service providers are invited to this meeting to gain information, ask questions, and express concerns about services for people with disabilities in our network area.  This meeting is now a Tele-Video Conference.  You can attend in person at one of five locations throughout the Nortwest Network or via phone by calling 217-545-6649.
